George Michael and Wham! were an English pop duo formed in 1981 by schoolmates George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. They are best known for their hit singles, such as “Wake Me Up Before You Go–Go”, “Careless Whisper”, and “Freedom”.
Their debut album, Fantastic, was released in 1983 and it was an immediate success, spawning the hit singles “Young Guns (Go For It!)” and “Wham Rap!”. The duo went on to release two more albums, Make It Big (1984) and Music from the Edge of Heaven (1986), which also featured hit singles such as “Everything She Wants”, “I’m Your Man”, and “The Edge of Heaven.”
